AS some of you know my husband and I have been trying to buy 2 buildings, and this has been going on since April. Just to fill everyone in we are having some trouble getting that done. The seller agreed to the purchase price and signed the contract, The trouble is there are liens on the property, so an attorney has had to be brought into all this. The attorney has now let one of the lien holds take procession of the buildings. So we got an attorney to protect us as we had a contract. Which I have found out these days a contract is not what it use to mean. As of yesterday we have found out the the lien holder has agreed to sell us the property, that is unless there another lien that was not found in the first title search. Which I hope there is not any more liens. This has been one very large nightmare. I will keep you posted.

127 Yard Sale Finds

These Silver pieces will be made into lamps.
The two child's trunks were priced at $45.00 each. I got both for $50.00. The wood item in the floor was used to hold socket's.

This is a great child's kitchen cabinet. I have always want to find one and this one is great. I can just image being a little girl getting this for a gift and the excitement she must have had, with hours for fun.

Doll chest of Drawers, isn't it cute.

A drawer made into drawers. What a great way to turn trash into treasurer.

This is a cute Thread holder. It holds 4 different color of thread. It is now in my sewing collection.

This is only a small amount of what I got.

Hit the jackpot of Longaberger basket's. I also picked up the white shelf they are seating on.

Can you guess what it is? I'll give you a hint. It will make your bath warm.
Give up? A hot water heater. We came home with 3. This what Bob told us where we could get on at. Thanks Bob.

Corner Cabinet was the first purchase of the day.

Printer boxes I got 4 of them.

This cabinet was also one of the first purchases of the day. Came from same yard sale as the green cabinet

Margo at Junkin Journal would love these. I was thinking of her when I purchased them.
Well, that is some of what I got. Hope you enjoyed it, as much as I loved shopping for it.

Yard Sale Part 3

This is the Truck all loaded down and not an inch left to spare. We even rode home with things in our lap and at our feet.
The inside of the truck, see what I mean, no more room.
This is the last stop on Saturday. This is just South of Frankfort Ky.

This is the inside of a barn filled to the rafters with great stuff. The barn is owned and run by Bob Durbin of Stanford, Ky. He was kind enough to give us information on something that we were looking for. I will show you in another post. Bob we will be back next year.

More pictures of the inside of Bob's barn.

The spinning wheel is now in one of my antique booth's, it is from the 1800's.

The outside of the barn. I love old barns. If they could only talk. Are you ready for more? Check back tomorrow.

Yard Sale Part 3

This is not a very good picture (I was driving a taking a picture at the same time) But this gives you a idea of what the traffic was like.

Here are some totems made out to vases, tea pots and what nots. I talked to this lady and told her I would post pictures on my blog for her. She gave me her business card, and at this time I can't find it on my desk. Ever have one of those days? Any way they were very nice and wanted to bring one home but did not have room as I was afraid it would not make it home in one piece. I got some great stuff at this stop. A spinning wheel, a child's cabinet. Longaberger basket's, a Barbie, A great sign for my husband and the greatest Ice Tea ever. I found the business card the wonderful lady who made the totems is Paula Schank from Byrdstown, TN. Stac's by Paula.
This is in Pall-Mall TN. I think that is how you spell it. Anyway I loved this building.

This is another building I love. We stop here every year, the store is not open it is the yard sale at the house we stop for. I met the owner the first year but have not seen him in the past two years. I'll bet this building would have lots to say.

127 yard sale part 2

This is the truck after the first day. I took this the morning of day two.
This is the second year we have stopped at the Rockin DJ Farm the barn is full of yard sale items as well as horses, dogs and chickens.

This is the view from the Rockin DJ Farm. It is breath taking.

This is the son of the own of Rockin DJ Farms. I can't remember his name but is a very nice man. Invited us to come back any time. He and his family make you feel as if you are long lost relatives.

127 yard sale part 1

I just loved this was $150.00 but I had no room in the truck for it.

This was a real working bathroom and an outhouse. The line was long.

First stop of the day. Lots of great stuff and good prices as well.

Love the screen door, bed frame and the glass door.

The weather was nice, not to hot, just right. Signal Mountain is a beautiful place, and very nice people as well. I filled the truck up on the first day, but don't worry I found more great items to bring home. Will show pictures later. This should wet your taste buds.

Busy Busy Busy

I have been very busy the last 2 weeks. First I had been preparing all summer for a yard sale. We all know how much work goes into one of those. Anyway had a two day one, did very well but still have a ton of stuff. Not sure where I was keeping all of it. Anyway had another one the following weekend only because I had sweet corn to sell and why not do both. No I did not have to get it all out again. I had it all set up in the building that we are purchasing. Will be having another one in the coming weeks, more stuff to add. The week I was hauling it all to the building my younger brother calls and said that on Friday of the week they would be tearing down the old farm house. This is where my great grandparents lived as well as my grandparent's had lived for over 50 years. Anyway my brother had built a new home next to it so the old one had to come down. I still had a lot of stuff in the house to get out. So I stopped what I was doing and took my youngest son with me to haul it out of there. It was a day and a half job, but got it done. That Friday I closed my yard sale early and went to the farm to be there to watch the house come down. It was so sad to see a part of my families lives be destroy. There was so many memories in that house. A part of me went down with it, but I have lots of pictures, I will try and post some other time as I am having trouble loading picture's at this time.
I leave tomorrow for the 127 yard sale. Have been looking forward to that for month's. We are starting in Chattanooga TN and ending in Frankfort KY. Tomorrow is a site seeing day. I will take lots of pictures and post when I get back. If any of you are going be safe, wear sunscreen and most of all have FUN.
