Antique store update

This is a picture of where the concession stand will be for the auction part of the building.
This is not a very good picture of the inside to the building, but you get the idea. This end will be the antique part of the building. The garage doors will be removed and enclosed. One door will be replaced with a display window and door. As you can see lots of work needs to be done.

This is the outside of the building. Not much to look at, the outside will get a new paint job and the shrub's in the front will be removed and some landscaping will be done. I would like to add a porch to the front of the building to give it some punch. We still have not got the paper's signed, but the present owner gave us the go ahead and do some much needed work to the building. We are clearing it out this week. I am planning on going there today to check on the progress and to meet with my auctioneer to see what needs to be done on that side of the building. I am very excited about the whole process.
I leave in 22 days for the grand daddy of yard sales. Look out Rt 127 yard sale. What a buying trip that will be.
I will keep you updated on the building and my new adventure and promise to post pictures of the transformation. I don't know when we will get to take ownership of the building as there are a few liens on the property. That is what the hold up is.

Soap Box

I am going to get on my soap box today. My husband and I went camping this weekend to our favorite campground. Fern Clyffe State park, this is a state run camp ground. We have gone to this same campground for the last five years. Last year our former Governor, Rod Blog, raised the camping fees from 15.00 per night to 20.00 a night and 30.00 on holiday weekends. So image my shock when we were one of only 8 camper's at a campground that holds 50 some camp sites in full hook-ups. In years past we would have to arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday just to get a spot. This was so disappointing to have no one else at this beautiful campground.
What this former governor has done has not only hurt the state run campgrounds but also the business' around the area. Fern Clyffe is localed just south of Goreville Il. That is 15 miles south of Marion Il. This area is known for wine trails, bike trails, and antique stores. I understand that the state is having budget problems, but raising campground fees is not the answer, they are only cutting their own throat's. If they want to make cuts start with their salary's.
Another problem I noticed was the camper's that had been there before us had left their trash everywhere, or hiker's had left their water bottles thrown on the ground, come on people clean up after yourself, no matter where you are. Take your trash with you until you can find a trash can.
Sorry I just had to voice my openion.
Hope everyone had a great 4th.

Sorry I did not post these earlier in the week but have been busy going to softball games. Hannah and I were gone over the weekend to Jackson TN to a softball tournament. She played 7 games in all. I don't know who was more tired me or her. The weather was hot but we did have a breeze, which helped some. I came home with a wonderful sunburn, even with lots of sunscreen. I had planned on visiting a few of the local antique stores and goodwill but never got a chance. Maybe in two weeks when we go back for another tournament.
I did manage to hit a local estate sale, and hit the mother load of sales. I missed out on a wonder Barbie collection, I could have kick myself for not going up stairs of this house first. Another dealer got them first. I collect old Barbies.
