Where does the time go?

I can't believe that It has been 9 months since my last post. I just don't have the time to blog much anymore, but I do visit my fav's all most everyday.
So much has happened in the last 9 months, besides getting older. Fall harvest was a challenge with the fall rains. Now we have had to deal with the Spring floods. We did not get flooded here but area's around us did. With all the rain we have not been able to get into the fields until his week.
We had a cold snowy winter with very little work for our trucking company and has not picked up very much either. I hope it does soon I would hate to lay people off.
We had been trying to purchase two buildings in our small town of Goreville, but as of last week they were foreclosed on. The people who owned them would not even try to get clear titles for them. We do get our money back thank goodness. So for now my dream of owning my own antique/auction house is on the back burner. I am so bummed.
With two graduation's this month I am very busy. Our daughter is to graduate from Shawnee Community College this Friday, but now that has been pushed back to August 6 (127 mile yard sale time). This is due to the school gym being used as a Red Cross Shelter for flood victims for Cairo, IL.
Our youngest son it graduating from high school next weekend. He still is undecided on what he wants to do. For now he will be farming with his dad and working around the trucking business.
Awe to be young again, and know what I know now. I would have done somethings different, but then so would the rest of us.
I promise to finish my post from the last year's yard sales' and some projects I am working on.
Until them God Bless You All!

Day one ot the 127 Yard Sale

Well with our 5th year behind us of the 127 mile yard sale, I have had a couple of weeks to rest and set back and reflect on this sale. The weather was kind to us, it was hot but not so hot that we felt liked we would pass out. We meet some friends and some new friends along the way. On our first day we met Elizabeth and Wanda at their booth some where south of Frankfort Ky. They like to take old items and make give them new life. I brought a couple of primitive cabinet's from Elizabeth. I will show those in a later post.

This is Elizabeth her and Wanda a super nice people, They made Anna and I feel like old friends.

Happy Birthday America

Happy Birthday America!!!!!!

It seems like work never ends when you live on a farm. We went from Spring planting, to wheat harvest and now we are in the middle of hay season. The weather has been very hot, but it seems like we are finally getting a break from the heat.
I have not had much time for blogging until today. I have been wanting to share some of my auction finds. This is only a few of the items, I will try and post some more later.

Spring Cleaning a Hoaders House

With this being the first day of spring I was thinking now would be a good time to show you a few pictures of items I have picked up. I have been helping a friend off and on for the last few months to clean out her aunt's home. Her aunt has been a hoarder for sometime. Out of respect for this person I did not take pictures of her home. Let me just say OMG! This is not only her house but a guest house and a garage. In the garage it is floor to ceiling puzzles along one wall. I have never seen so many puzzles in my life. Not to mention box after box of just stuff, plus empty boxes. Stacks of newspaper.
When I was introduced to the guest house it was even worse. You could barely open the door. I have no clue yet what we will find there.
We have started with the house. There has been 2 walk in trash dumpsters filled. The house in much better shape now and you can actually see the floor. The pictures I have here is just a few of the item I have cleaned and priced so far.
One thing that I did find which I find funny is a book on managing clutter.
Some of the items that were in the post about my auction were also items from this house.
We have not found any signs of spiders or mice which is ok by me. I will share more when I get more cleaned and ready to price.

Busy Busy Busy!!!!

I have been so busy around here that I have not had time to blog.
We have had snow, snow, snow and did I mention we have had snow. It looks like there is more to come. We only have a little left on the ground at this time, but we are to get more at the first of the week. I must be crazy but I love snow. I guess because I don't have to drive in it to get to work any more. My only excuse for not getting to work every day is there is laundry to step over to get there. LOL!
I have been redoing my bedroom. Painting, new carpet, light fixture and furniture. I still have to put the curtains back up and hang pictures I will post picture later of the makeover.
I am once again taking an antique class through the local college. We are having the best time. So far we have talked about toys, jewelry and primitives. Next week is metals. We have also talked about e-bay and a new site that you can sell on called Ruby Lane. I have not been able to really check that one out all that well.
I am sharing some random pictures, I hope you like them.
This is Cricket my year old Yorkie. Trying to get get out of a snow drift.
It you look real close you can see Cricket trying to get over the snow drift.

This is the view from my kitchen window.

Cricket could not decide what the snow was or if it was ok to walk on. She loved it once to got off the porch.

What woman would not love a new combine for Christmas? I always say my husband spends way to much money on me for Christmas. This year a combine, last year a tractor, and the year before a new car. I like the new car the best.
See Ya later. Lisa

Warmer weather

I know that we are all ready for spring, yard sales, tag sales and auctions. I thought that I would show you all the items I have stored in my garage.

One day in Sept. I decided that I would clean out my side of the garage, that is if the is such a thing. My DH is always telling me he is going to clean it all out and put it in a big pile and burn it. I am sure several of you have heard this before. So it was time to clean this up. I stated with taking all my very valuable collectibles out, now mind you my DH 1967 Camaro is probably more valuable. LOL. So here we go, this picture is only a small amount of stuff, but I love it.

This is everything from my part, which is where the sliding door is. Getting the idea of how much good stuff I have?

This is all stuff that I need to either clean and price or items that are for making other great stuff.

This is my part of the garage cleaned out.

This is another view.

One last view.

Now I'll bet you are wondering how did she get all that wonderful stuff in the small space? Well, let me tell you about me past. I was a pack rat as and child, I don't think I have outgrown that much, but now I collect better stuff. Any HOOO! I was also a crafter for 20 years, so I was very good at packing a van and trailer. So you get the idea. I got it all back in, failed to take a picture, and still had room to spare. I purged a lot of stuff. There was a lot of it that was left over yard sale items. I took that to Good Will. I'll bet you are wondering does it still look all neat and tidy. HA! HA! HA! HA! Not at all. I have been shopping for more, plus I have several projects going on out there. It is just to cold to go out there to work. I do have a heater but I can't use it without moving a lot of stuff out of the way. I don't want to burn the garage down. I have to get out there tomorrow as we are expecting out first snow of the year and I don't want my daughter car to set out in it. She won't be going anywhere in it any way. She has a car that is not good for snow. She doesn't leave to go back to school until the 17th. So she is home for awhile longer.

I am busy with end of year paperwork for our business then it will be all the paperwork for the farm. I hate tax season!!!!!
